Dr. Elizabeth Taylor brings a depth of clarity and breadth of experience to her visionary work with Wisdom to Go, a dynamic production company dedicated to inspiring and educating its audiences. Most especially, The One Minute Zone, which targets young audiences, promises to offer its viewers new contexts for understanding both self and others, the better to assist them in discovering positive solutions to many of the inevitable life challenges that so often rob them of hope and passion.

Wisdom to Go provides insights and guidance not only to the young but the older people of this country at a time we all sorely need it. Identifying, articulating, educating to the meaning and significance of personal values like honesty, hard work, persistence, thinking, planning, personal responsibility, courage, hope, devotion to higher values and the better part of our common humanity are just a few of the values that Wisdom To Go works; to spread into the troubled and disintegrating social fabric in the United States and global society today. Wisdom To Go represents the kind of website, media, and communications projects that we need far more of, not less of, in this media fixated and inundated society. We wish Dr. Elizabeth Taylor all the best in her efforts to promote the good and to release the positive energies of all while resisting and working to limit and eliminate the bad in our modern culture and society, and especially for our children, elderly, and the weak, weakened, and disenfranchised.

Dr. Taylor is what I would call a ‘spiritual athlete’. She climbs over new obstacles and rises to ever, new heights with each climb. She talks the walk and walks the talk!

The promise of education—degree dollars for job dollars—is failing Americans in profound ways: (a) today, there are no new jobs for educated white and blue-collar workers and (b) education is not preparing citizens for adult life, especially when a quarter of U.S. students do not graduate from high school. Educational systems have ignored core issues–the relationship between students and themselves and the relationship between students and teachers—while continuing to rely on a traditional left-brained view of human nature that rejects decades of brain research of the building blocks of human flourishing. Elizabeth Taylor’s work with young people and adults taps into and emphasizes the missing curriculum: the unacknowledged and unconscious realm of emotions, intuition, biases, talent, genetic predisposition, character traits, inner wisdom, spirituality, social mores, and how the rational and emotional are intertwined. Elizabeth helps students and adults to be the authors of their own authentic education and lives.

Wisdom to Go affirms that even in today’s hyper-technology world there is still potential for self-reflection and personal growth. Taylor’s one-minute and ‘while you’re on-the-go” messages inspire us to pursue a higher level of personal responsibility and focuses our souls (mind, will & emotions) on a more balance way of thinking and living. CEO, author, writer, change agent and parent Elizabeth Taylor possesses the unique ability to authentically speak to young people from all ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. In sharing her experiences Taylor’s authenticity shines through to create a safe space, which allows teens and adults to express and be themselves. But it doesn’t end there because ultimately Elizabeth is about growth! By utilizing her professional and academic skills as an expert facilitator and mediator, Taylor brings all of her tools and resources into the conversation.
During a presentation at Berkeley High School, Taylor presented each student with an autographed copy of her book “Straight Up! A Teenager’s Guide to Taking Charge of Your Life.” While she spoke, you could hear a pin drop, students were engaged and attentive. A gifted communicator, some students softly shed tears as she talked about how she endured and overcame personal challenges. After the presentation, Elizabeth was surrounded by students who wanted to give her a hug or just simply say” thank you.” Some of the student’s comments are below.
“Beginning today I will no longer worry about tomorrow or yesterday. Tomorrow will always be there, waiting for me to make the most of it. The past is in the past and will never change. Beginning today I will face challenges with courage and determination. Regardless of what has gone before, I believe there is hope for a brighter and better future in 2010 and beyond.”

At Cesar Chavez High School, we have a Young Women’s Group that provides a much needed opportunity for our girls to share, in an intimate and protected setting, issues and concerns they are struggling with in a loving, supportive environment. Many of these girls have found that just by sharing mutual life challenges, they are able to be better focused in school and are comforted by realizing they are not alone.
Dr. Elizabeth Taylor has on several occasions volunteered as a guest speaker to share her wisdom and lovingly impart her encouragement to these girls. She has the gift of being able to make each girl feel special and that she is speaking directly to her. The girls are always excited to hear that Dr. Taylor will be presenting. One young lady said to me after Dr. Taylor did a session on “Beauty”, that no one was ever able to make her feel beautiful inside like Dr. Taylor had. That’s what she does so well! She speaks to the heart of young women and helps them to understand that their inner beauty radiating on the outside is what ultimately makes them beautiful and ultimately is what is most important. She is a great role model for young women and we look forward to her returning again to build up more Chavez girls.

Regarding Straight Up!: “This book is so enlightening and reveals the bedrock of values that, if embraced, will assist our youth in discovering their inherent goodness, their strength, and their determination to succeed in life. I am very impressed that you have included the nuances of human nature coupled with the potentiality of the human spirit. You left no stone unturned, you gave clarity to how to appropriately and effectively resolve imposing difficulties. I wholeheartedly endorse your book and recommend that it get into the hands of as many teenagers and parents as possible.”
- Dr. Paul Mohr, Jr., Former Phoenix School Superintendent
Dr. Taylor knows her stuff and has a rare talent. She also knows how to share her stuff with passion. Parenting not only comes naturally, it’s a passion and a life journey for Dr. Taylor. After hearing her speak, the parents and youth in our program, Kids of Honor, continue to mention Dr. Taylor’s lessons. Her work is excellent, valuable and so important in our world today.
Thanks Elizabeth!
